That time they let me talk at a respected cybersecurity conference
An abridged summary of An Abridged History of Malware
We're coming up on a year since I spoke at BSides London!
That's right, they let me into one of the largest
community-organised cybersecurity events in the UK and didn't stop
me when I spoke as fast as I could to fit in about seven decades
of malware history into my fifteen minute presentation. I don't
know if it comes through on the video recording, but they even
laughed at my jokes, which was a very gratifying experience.
BSides as a whole, actually, was just a fantastic time. If you
ever fancy listening to a bunch of people talk who really know
their stuff, or just hanging out with some really cool people in
general, see if there's a BSides near you. There probably is!
The recording of my talk, An Abridged History of Malware, can be found
on YouTube here.
The slides I used can be downloaded from here.
For any typeface nerds in the audience, yes, the titles for each slide
were all written in a typeface from the relevant decade.
IdentiFont is a wonderful resource.
